CIO & Partner
John is CIO and Partner at Morgan Capital Family Office where he invests in multiple alternative investments and runs an equity income portfolio. He is also a finance lecturer at Babson College and Olin Business School teaching the following courses: Capital Markets, Equity Investments, Financial Instruments and Principles in Finance. John has over thirty years of experience in the financial services industry.
He began his career at Putnam Investments working in sales and marketing and eventually was responsible for Putnam’s Midwest Institutional territory sales of investment only and defined contribution plans as a Vice President. After seven years, he left Putnam to go to The Cornell Johnson Business School. After graduating, he transitioned to an equity analyst position at Putnam covering the industrials, energy and basic materials sectors and spent the next 10 years working on global investment teams, eventually becoming the lead portfolio manager of The Putnam Global Resources fund. In 2012, John was hired by Epoch Investment Partners as a co-portfolio manager and senior analyst covering the industrials, consumer, technology and healthcare sectors for the International and Global Small-Cap portfolios and eventually became the Chief Investment Officer for the combined business with >$1Billion in institutional assets. In 2020, John joined Corbin Advisors a private corporate strategy and investor relations firm as Senior Vice President and head of Corbin’s Advisory Group, overseeing a large consulting business providing corporate strategy and investor relations advice to public companies. He eventually left Corbin to start a family office and teach finance at Babson College and Graduate Business School.
John holds a BA from Denison University, an MBA from The Johnson School at Cornell University and is a CFP AND CRPC.
John resides in Hingham, MA and enjoys reading about American History, coaching his three children’s sports teams (basketball, soccer), Global Travel, Triathlons, Tennis and Scuba Diving.
